Literal Meaning

A frog at the bottom of a well

Meaning

Someone with a narrow worldview who thinks they know everything; being ignorant of the bigger picture.

Origin Story

A frog lived at the bottom of an old well. One day, a sea turtle visited and told the frog about the vast ocean. The frog couldn't believe it—how could anything be bigger than his well?
