Pattern
Subject + time + place + event
Core idea
When both time and place appear, beginner Mandarin usually puts time before place, and both come before the main event. The sentence first frames when, then where, then what happens.
This creates a clear setup for the listener before the verb phrase arrives.
Compare with time words alone
Time words can appear near the beginning of the sentence or after the subject. Once a place phrase is also present, the practical beginner order is time first, place second, event last.
This pattern keeps long event sentences easier to parse.
