吧
Pattern
Suggestion + 吧
Key words
Core idea
Final 吧 softens a suggestion, invitation, or light command. It often makes the sentence feel like “let’s,” “why don’t you,” or “okay?” depending on context.
The sentence before it keeps normal word order. 吧 is added at the end.
Tone note
Without 吧, a command can sound more direct. With it, the speaker often sounds less forceful or more collaborative.
Do not confuse this final particle with 把, which is a different character and a different construction.
