How questions with 怎么 (zenme)

Core idea

怎么 asks how something is done, what method is used, or what someone should do. It usually comes before the verb phrase it asks about.

The rest of the sentence stays in normal word order.

Usage boundary

At the beginner level, use 怎么 for method and manner questions: how to say something, how to go somewhere, or how to help.

For degree questions like “how tall” or “how old,” use the 多 question pattern instead.
